Our History
JD Machine was founded in 1980 by a small group of skilled professionals who recognized a growing need for hydraulic and air tool repair in Gibson County, Indiana.
At the time, the region was home to several active coal mining operations, including:
- Amax Coal Company
- Peabody Energy
- Greenboro Coal Company
These operations relied heavily on dependable hydraulic equipment, and JD Machine quickly became a go-to service provider for mining equipment repair and maintenance.
Growth Across Southern Indiana & Beyond
As the mining industry evolved and many local mines retired, JD Machine adapted and expanded. What began as a small, local operation grew into a multi-state service provider, supporting customers across a 5–6 state radius.
